About

Who am I?

Software engineer building products, distributed systems, and open-source software. I work primarily with Elixir/OTP and Ruby, with experience building LLM-powered applications and agentic systems.

I’m currently at Plausible, building open-source web analytics software. I’ve also worked as a Staff Engineer at CrewAI, joining before its public launch, and founded Amank, leading product and engineering through its acquisition by BHub.

I like working close to the product and the code: taking vague problems, designing the system behind them, and getting things into production without making them more complicated than they need to be.

Who am I outside of work?

I’m a Christian, married to Camila, and a theologian. I also love music. I play the piano and guitar, and I sing. Lately, I’ve been learning Koine Greek.

I spent a year living as a digital nomad, which was an amazing experience. Eventually, I decided to settle back in Curitiba, but I still spend part of the year slow traveling.

What is this blog for?

Writing helps me organize my thoughts and better understand what I’m learning. I’ve also always enjoyed documenting things along the way. So, first and foremost, this blog is for me. If something I write ends up being useful to someone else, even better.

I write here about software engineering, things I’m learning, problems I’ve encountered, and ideas I find interesting. I also use this space to document what I read and the places I visit.

How did I get into software engineering?

I started programming as a teenager, helping my mom automate parts of her small business with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Microsoft Excel. I was fascinated by what software could do and how it could take repetitive work off her hands.

At 16, I got my first apprenticeship at a software shop in my hometown. I remember going to the interview thinking I knew a bit about building software. It turned out I knew absolutely nothing about real-world production systems. Which was great, because I spent that year learning everything I could.
