For me, reading is more than just gaining knowledge. It’s entering different worlds, traveling through time, and, to quote one of my favorite authors, “becoming a thousand men and yet remaining myself” (C.S. Lewis).
I read everything from fiction to non-fiction, classics to contemporary works, technical books to philosophy and theology, and authors I agree with and disagree with. I have no problem reading books that challenge my beliefs. In fact, that’s often how I refine and strengthen my own worldview.
The one thing I do care about, since time is limited, is reading good books. If I’m not enjoying one or getting much from it, I have no problem abandoning it.
I keep my notes in a Zettelkasten, so whatever is worth remembering outlives the book. Here’s a list of what I’ve been reading, along with some notes.
